Our Mission
Our mission is to aid in maintaining the safety, health and beauty of Carters Lake by acting as a liaison between the USACE and the general public providing both with resources through volunteer programs allowing the Carters Lake project to be fully enjoyed by current and future generations.
Our Beautiful Carters Lake Inc (OBCL) is a non-profit organization that has a Cooperating Association Agreement with the United Sates Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
The USACE is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. You may be surprised to learn the USACE does not keep any money received from day use boat ramp passes, or park fees. All of that money goes back to the U.S. Treasury.
OBCL was formed to promote and organize volunteer programs and to help raise money in an effort to maintain and improve services to parks, campgrounds, and properties that are managed by the USACE in and around Carters Lake. OBCL partners with the USACE to identify, fund and accomplish these areas of need.

THE CLEAN-UP STARTS AT 9:00 AM AND IS FOLLOWED BY A FREE PICNIC, MUSIC AND FREE TEE SHIRT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS.

VOLUNTEERS PICK UP TRASH AND DEBRIS ALONG THE SHORELINE, DAY USE AREAS AND CAMPGROUNDS. SOME FOLKS BUILD AND DEPLOY FISH HABBITATS WHILE STILL OTHERS WORK TO CLEAR HIKING AND BIKING TRAILS. WE HAVE A GREAT TIME
